On uncertainty

Because we don’t yet fully understand the origin of these fantastic hierarchies, we can conclude that God exists. Okay, no we can’t. Really we can conclude that we live in a multiverse in which all of the constants of nature take on different values in different places. Okay, we can’t actually conclude that either. What we can do is keep thinking about it, not jumping to too many conclusions while we try to fill one of those pesky “gaps” in our understanding that people like to insist must be evidence for their personal favorite story of reality. — Sean Carroll

If you extend the quote above to include God, nature of reality, brain/mind problem, language and practically everything else, then you have a clear picture of the stance I had been taking for quite some time. I simply see no other way.

Oh no no no, I am first going to argue my point with God until he shrugs and let me in to heaven. But then if He says something so profound, obviously true and (necessarily) out of this world (necessary, because I think I have thought of most of the/many possibilities that could reasonably occur to a human being), I’m going to point my finger at Him and scream hysterically “Well, if you didn’t limit our capacity to understand in the first place!” I can’t think of any possible refutation to my final claim so I am going to (perhaps arrogantly) assume there’s none. If He still doesn’t let-up, then He’s probably not benevolent and/or all-knowing.

So, uh, yes, there’s a chance that I’ll go to hell. :( But at least I put up a fight, and against God even! ;)
